. . . freshly mowed and with the sprinklers running. Or like this morning, with a gentle rain falling on leaves and petals. We joke that we must really be getting old to get our thrills sitting around watching the sprinklers run. : )

Hi Deb.... Oh! I didn't know you had other blogs.... I love this one! Your garden photos are wonderful and as I scrolled down I felt like you were taking me on a personal tour of your yard. I'll definitely have to bookmark this blog and I'll take a peek at your others (I got here by way of your comment at my autumn blog--thanks for your kind words). Oh, and below when you wrote 'two cats in the yard' were you quoting the song by Crosby,Stills,Nash and Young--Our House? Hi, Deb! I love your garden! One thing I do miss in Bermuda is being able to have that lush garden. Our Bermuda Grass pales in comparism to yours! When I spend the summer in Canada, I have a field day planting things I wouldn't be able to here.
Lavendar in particular is my favorite, and when I arrive at our cottage in Northern Ontario, I'm greeted with an array of purple heady scented blooms - it seems to come up year after year, and so far, the deer have left it alone!
Debra and Cathy, I'm so glad you discovered this blog. It's new! Just created for this Father's Day 2007, but I "backdated" some of the posts to record the garden from the very beginning. I hope to keep it up-to-date in real time from this point on.
Cathy, lavender is something I'd like to get started somewhere in our garden. How nice to be greeted by it at your cottage!
And yes, Debra, like you, I've always loved "Our House" and told my husband I always want to have TWO cats in the yard! That is such an evocative song, isn't it?
