Blue Mist Spirea gives a show

August is winding down, but the garden is still wild with color. The Blue Mist Spirea is one of our favorites in the spot we call the Arbor Garden. This plant attracts butterflies and bees like crazy and the blue flowers add a new touch of color to our mostly-shades-of-red-and-yellow garden. In past years the blooms haven't come on until mid-September to early October, but we're not complaining about it being early!

Looks gorgeous!! We have a row of 4 of them that are 2 years old and they are just beautiful this year! And the bumblebees--wow!! probably 50 or more at a time! What a great plant!

Oh, I bet it looks beautiful in rows, princessdiva! Like fields of lavender almost! It's a keeper for sure.

Oh, yes. I HAVE been "here"! I've jotted down the blue mist spirea. I don't know if I've just missed it around here or if it's not suitable. I'll check it out. I really like the color blue in my yard.
