Oh, I wish we could have had some of your rain!! We got very little-hoping for some today!! What is your big bush in the front of your pictures?? It has arching limbs like a spirea--or they are just saggy from the rain? Great pictures!
That's an Arctic Blue Willow in front. The rain is making it saggy, but it does have graceful arching stems. We love it, but it gets WAY too big/wide for the entryway. If you look at this post: http://kansasprairiegarden.blogspot.com/2008/08/overgrown-entryway.html you can see how it looks AFTER a little trimming over the sidewalk. We didn't put the purple fountain grasses up near the porch this year, so that helps open it up some, but just a warning about WHERE you plant an Arctic Blue Willow. ;)
You have a very pretty yard. We had rain all day yesterday too, and most of today. The gardens are loving it. And we don't mind too much either. Nice to be inside and relax. Take care, and thanks for visiting my blog, Suzanne

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth . . . And God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so . . . And God saw that it was good." Genesis 1
